Which Florida license or registration are you applying for?
“Beauty license” is too broad to choose a screening. DBPR lists separate cosmetology categories, including Cosmetologist, Nail Specialist, Facial Specialist, Full Specialist and Cosmetology Salon. Your individual registration and the business’s salon license are also different applications.
Find the exact title and application route, such as Florida education, endorsement or an existing license from another jurisdiction. Follow the checklist for that application rather than borrowing the screening instructions of another salon worker.
Does a criminal-history question mean fingerprints are required?
Not automatically. The published COSMO 1 application includes background-disclosure questions and instructions about supporting information where applicable. A requirement to answer those questions is different from a specific instruction to submit fingerprints.
If a school, employer or department has separately requested screening, ask who needs it and for what purpose. Do not invent an ORI for an ordinary cosmetology application simply because another DBPR profession uses Live Scan.
Why is a massage therapist in a salon a different case?
A Licensed Massage Therapist, commonly shortened to LMT, follows the Florida Board of Massage Therapy and Department of Health requirements. The board’s current licensing page expressly addresses electronic fingerprinting. This is a different regulatory route from cosmetology or nail-specialist registration.
An establishment owner or someone holding more than one professional credential should check each applicable application. Sharing a spa or salon address does not make everyone subject to identical screening, and an employee’s appointment does not automatically complete a business-owner requirement.
What about lashes, Botox and medical aesthetics?
For eyelash services, identify the exact cosmetology credential and application. Check whether that application actually requests fingerprints.
For Botox or medical-aesthetic work, start with the practitioner’s healthcare license and current DOH screening instructions. A procedure name does not establish a separate fingerprinting route or permission to perform it.
What should you send Oraz Fingerprinting before booking?
Provide the exact license or registration title, requesting organization and the relevant screening instructions. Say whether you need an individual license, a business application or an employer-requested check. The team can clarify whether a fingerprinting service fits your request before you arrange a Hallandale Beach visit.
Questions about this topic
Should every nail technician book Level 2 screening?
No blanket rule should be assumed. Check the current Nail Specialist application and any separate employer or agency requirement first.
Is LMT another name for a cosmetology license?
No. Licensed Massage Therapist is a separate credential under the Florida massage-therapy regulatory system.
Can I choose an ORI just from the word salon?
No. Establish the actual program and screening request first. The responsible organization must confirm any required identifier.
