What if I have a passport or an ID from another state?
Tell the provider what current documents you hold and which organization requested the fingerprints. DBPR’s published guidance calls for two identification documents, including one with a picture and signature, and lists a passport among its examples.
That does not mean every program accepts the same combination, an expired document or a phone photograph of the original. Ask about your specific documents before travelling to the office.
Can an ITIN replace an SSN for a Florida screening?
Rules differ by agency. DOH guidance allows an ITIN for certain screening applicants who cannot legally obtain an SSN. It also describes narrow exceptions for nursing-by-examination and temporary medical-license screening. Those are program-specific routes, not permission to leave required fields blank on every submission.
The same DOH guidance distinguishes screening from licensure: being able to complete a screening does not itself remove the SSN requirement for the license. DBPR publishes a separate rule and a stated exception for certain noncitizen AB&T customers.
Is a personal FBI report a workaround for a missing number?
No. First establish whether the organization wants a Florida agency screening, physical cards or your personal FBI record. A different product does not automatically satisfy the original employment or licensing requirement.
Never insert a made-up number or someone else’s details to get through a booking field. Ask the responsible program how your situation must be handled.
