Florida Level 2 vs. a Personal FBI Report: Which Screening Was Requested?

Start with the request, not the product name

Find the original message from the organization that needs your screening. Look for the agency or board name, the role or application, and any submission instructions. A screenshot of a search result or a coworker’s receipt is a weaker starting point than instructions addressed to you.

If the message simply says “FBI background check,” ask the sender whether it means an authorized employment or licensing submission, a personal record, or physical fingerprint cards. Clarifying this before paying is more useful than choosing whichever service sounds fastest.

Where an ORI fits

For a Florida agency submission, bring the ORI and other identifiers the requesting program supplies. Do not choose a code from an unrelated profession. A fingerprint technician can review the instructions with you; the requesting organization must confirm its requirements.

The personal FBI report path should not be purchased as a workaround for a missing Florida ORI. First resolve what the agency actually needs.
