A person opening, buying or changing a licensed business may receive fingerprint instructions as part of the ABT application. An employer’s decision to screen a worker is a different purpose. Show the actual application checklist, not merely the business name or a job title. If several owners or other people are listed, ask the division which of them must submit prints.

What if you already hold an ABT license?

A new application, ownership change or existing-license transaction may have its own instructions about previous fingerprints. Do not assume either universal reuse or automatic repeat capture. Ask ABT about your application and any existing record, especially where the paperwork requests additional personal disclosures. The fingerprinting office cannot waive a division requirement.

Can an out-of-state applicant use cards?

DBPR publishes a specific hard-card route for out-of-state ABT applicants, including cards with division information preprinted. Get the proper instructions before arranging collection or mailing. What information helps before a local visit?

Have the application type, names of the required individuals, confirmed routing details and identification ready. Ask for a quote stating the agreed capture/submission work and any separate charges.
