Who Must Be Fingerprinted for a Florida Talent Agency License?

DBPR’s talent agency application requires electronic fingerprints from each agency owner and operator identified by its instructions. This is a licensing check for those people, not a requirement automatically imposed on every actor, model or performer represented by the agency. Before booking a group, identify the actual owners and operators who must submit.

What does a talent agency application concern?

The application concerns the business that acts as a talent agency and the people responsible for its operation. A performer joining an agency is in a different position from someone applying to own or operate it. Do not order an agency licensing submission for a model simply because an entertainment business requested a background check.

Who should attend a capture appointment?

Use the application’s list of owners and operators. If responsibilities or ownership are changing, clarify with DBPR which individuals need fingerprints for that transaction. A corporation cannot attend a fingerprint appointment; each required person must be identified correctly. Do not substitute one owner’s receipt for another person’s requirement or assume all employees must be included.

How should you organize the application timing?

Coordinate the fingerprint step with the current talent agency application. Filing business documents or completing an ordinary employment screening does not show that DBPR received the required licensing fingerprints. If a proposed launch date is near, distinguish the capture date from the department’s complete license review. A service provider cannot authorize the agency to operate while a license is pending.

What should you bring and check afterward?

Bring the talent agency instructions, identification and confirmed ORI for this purpose. Keep a receipt and TCN for each individual submission. If the file is incomplete, determine which person or document is missing before arranging repeat visits. Oraz Fingerprinting can review the requested capture work and availability in Hallandale Beach; DBPR decides whether the agency application meets its requirements.

Does your program ask for an ORI?

Identify the requesting program first. Use the directory as a reference and confirm the correct value with the organization before submission.

Questions about this topic

Do actors and models all need talent-agency licensing fingerprints?

Not merely because the agency represents them. Identify the applicable request for each person.

Is a talent agent the same as an athlete agent?

No. DBPR treats these as separate licensing professions.

Can one owner’s submission cover the whole company?

No. Each required individual’s fingerprints must be correctly associated with the application.
