Which Fingerprints Do Florida Gaming License Applicants Need?

A Florida gaming occupational license can require fingerprints, but the right request depends on the actual license category. The Florida Gaming Control Commission, or FGCC, handles these gaming programs. Pari-mutuel work, cardroom operations and slot-machine access are not interchangeable applications. Identify the role before selecting a fingerprinting service.

What is the difference between the gaming categories?

Pari-mutuel occupational licensing covers specified racing and jai-alai activities. Cardroom licenses concern people performing cardroom-related operations. Slot-machine and combination licenses address the applicable slot-area roles and overlapping access. A person working at the same venue may have different duties from a dealer, floor supervisor or administrator. Have the employer or FGCC identify the category rather than using the venue name alone.

Who tells you which application to use?

Start with the current FGCC licensing instructions and your employer’s licensing contact. Older pages and forms may still show DBPR or former rule numbering. That history is not a reason to select an unrelated DBPR purpose. Check whether your case is an initial application, change of classification or renewal, and follow its actual fingerprint requirements.

What should you take to the fingerprint appointment?

Bring the category-specific instructions, requested identification and any registration or application reference. FGCC lists different routing identifiers for the occupational categories; confirm the one for your application before submission. Do not rely on a coworker’s number. If physical cards are proposed, confirm acceptance and the receiving procedure first.

What happens after capture?

Keep the receipt and transaction reference for follow-up. Taking fingerprints does not issue an occupational license or grant access to a gaming area. The agency reviews the application and applicable background information. Oraz Fingerprinting can review the requested capture service before a Hallandale Beach visit; do not assume every program or category is supported without that confirmation.

Does your program ask for an ORI?

Identify the requesting program first. Use the directory as a reference and confirm the correct value with the organization before submission.

Questions about this topic

Is FGCC the same as DBPR?

No. Use current FGCC gaming instructions even when older application materials retain DBPR wording.

Does every employee at a cardroom need the same license?

No. Role, activity and applicable exceptions matter; the employer or FGCC should classify the request.

Can I use a personal FBI report instead?

Do not substitute it for the occupational-license fingerprint process.
