Where Must Florida Insurance Agents and Adjusters Get Fingerprinted?

Are you applying as an agent, adjuster or company principal?

Insurance agent and adjuster licensing is not the same application as an insurer-company director or officer undergoing OIR review. Obtain the exact licensing or admissions instructions. Each program has its own registration and supporting records, even though both currently name IdentoGO. A fingerprint receipt from an unrelated professional license should not be treated as transferable.

What if you live outside Florida?

The official agent and OIR instructions describe alternatives when a suitable electronic location is unavailable, including program-specific card processing. Registration, payment reference, card packet and authorized collection conditions matter. Do not arrange a generic card appointment and assume it will be processed without those prerequisites. A collection service must meet the receiving program’s requirements.

Do you need to be printed again?

Do not assume every additional insurance license automatically requires a new scan. DFS publishes conditions for previously processed records and additional applications. Have the licensing program confirm whether the record is usable for your actual request. A prior check sent to another agency is a different situation and is not automatically accepted.
