Who needs AHCA fingerprinting in Florida?
- Home health aides (HHA), caregivers, homemakers, sitters and companions in screened care programs.
- Staff of home health agencies, nurse registries, assisted living facilities (ALF), nursing homes and adult day care centers.
- Hospice staff and volunteers; workers in covered disability-care, pediatric extended-care and transitional-living programs.
- Staff in covered mental-health and residential-treatment facilities.
- Owners, administrators, controlling interests and financial officers listed for their facility type; certain Medicaid provider applicants.
How do I prepare for my fingerprinting appointment?
Ask your employer to start the screening and give you the Livescan request form. Bring it with your photo ID. We capture fingerprints and the required photo.
What else should I check?
Your role and facility type determine the requirement. AHCA does not require this same screening for every hospital employee.
Does your program ask for an ORI?
Identify the requesting program first. Use the directory as a reference and confirm the correct value with the organization before submission.

Does AHCA issue my fingerprints?
No. AHCA administers the applicable screening; a service provider captures fingerprints.
Can I submit a personal FBI PDF instead?
Do not substitute it for an AHCA-controlled screening. Follow the enrollment or employer instructions.
Does a completed scan mean I passed?
No. Capture, processing and the agency’s eligibility determination are separate stages.
