Who Needs Fingerprinting at an ALF or Adult Day Care Center?

ALF means assisted living facility. AHCA lists assisted living facilities and adult day care centers among settings with role-based Level 2 screening requirements. The relevant question is what you do and what access you have—not whether the workplace uses the word “medical.” The facility should identify the applicable screening before your appointment.

Which roles need the employer’s attention?

AHCA’s matrix distinguishes owners or controlling interests, administrators, financial officers, people providing personal services, and certain workers with access to clients’ funds, property or living areas. Contractors have their own conditions. A maintenance worker and a care assistant may therefore need different instructions even when entering the same building. Give the facility an accurate description of your duties.

Is an administrator license the same as staff screening?

No. Meeting a professional or administrator qualification does not automatically complete every facility employment requirement. Someone opening a facility should distinguish the business’s licensure work from screening the people involved. A staff member should ask the employer which screening request it initiated and whether a compliant photograph is needed with capture.

What happens when a result is delayed?

Keep the transaction reference and ask the facility which stage is outstanding: submission, record processing or its eligibility review. A scan appointment cannot guarantee a start date. If you previously worked in another care setting, have the facility review the existing record before ordering a duplicate check. Not every earlier screening is usable for every role.

What should you confirm before fingerprinting?

Ask the requesting organization for its current screening instructions, any required registration and the identifiers for your application. ORI identifies the agency route; an OCA may identify the organization within a particular program. Bring the requested identification. For a Hallandale Beach visit, show Oraz Fingerprinting those instructions so the team can confirm the available service before booking.

Does your program ask for an ORI?

Identify the requesting program first. Use the directory as a reference and confirm the correct value with the organization before submission.
