Is this for CNA certification or for a job?
A person preparing for CNA certification may be following Board of Nursing instructions, while a nursing home may separately need an employment screening through its authorized process. Ask which requirement remains incomplete. A course certificate, an exam registration and a fingerprint receipt are different documents, none of which should automatically be called the final clearance.
What if I already worked as a caregiver?
A previous caregiver, home-health or other agency check does not establish that the Board can use those results for CNA certification. Existing Clearinghouse records may help when the applicable conditions are met. Ask for that review before another appointment, especially if you are switching employers or returning to care work after a gap.
Who tells me whether I can start the shift?
The fingerprint technician captures and submits the agreed screening. The Board decides certification matters and the employer follows its clearance and onboarding rules. If your start date is close, tell the employer whether you have only booked, already submitted or received a request for more information. A payment or TCN is useful evidence of a step, not a promise of final eligibility.
How should I prepare for the fingerprinting appointment?
Before booking, tell Oraz Fingerprinting which license, board and application type the request concerns. Have the current instructions and any CHAI confirmation available. For a DOH screening, follow the current Clearinghouse process, including the required privacy affirmation. Check whether retained results can be used before paying for fresh fingerprints; a renewal notice does not automatically mean another capture is necessary.
Your appointment instructions provide the appropriate ORI and identification requirements. The separate ORI guide can help explain that identifier, but the requesting authority confirms the route. Bring the requested ID to the appointment and keep the TCN afterward. Fingerprint capture, agency review and issuance of your license are separate stages; Oraz does not decide professional eligibility.

Does CNA mean RN or LPN?
No. CNA is a nursing assistant certification, not an RN or LPN license category.
Will a CNA training school always arrange my fingerprints?
Do not assume that. Ask the school which steps it handles and which remain your responsibility.
Should I get another scan for every employer?
Ask the new employer and relevant agency whether authorized existing results can be used before paying again.
