Which nursing application am I completing?
A first license by examination, endorsement from another state, an APRN application and a compact upgrade are not interchangeable instructions. Your qualification, education or examination does not by itself satisfy the fingerprint step. Use the current Board of Nursing and HealthSource directions for your application, rather than a classmate's receipt or an older employer packet.
Can my previous nursing fingerprints be reused?
Existing retained Clearinghouse results may be usable if they meet DOH's current conditions, but do not assume every old check qualifies. HealthSource identifies additional recency considerations for a multistate upgrade. Ask the Department to confirm the existing record before buying another scan; a fingerprinting office should not promise that it can transfer any result between purposes.
Will the hospital receive my licensing result automatically?
Professional licensing and starting a hospital or home-health job are distinct administrative steps. Tell both the Board and employer if you are trying to satisfy two requests. Ask what proof each needs and whether authorized existing results can be used. A TCN tracks a fingerprint transaction; it does not prove that an RN, LPN or APRN license has been issued or that the employer has completed onboarding.
How should I prepare for the fingerprinting appointment?
Before booking, tell Oraz Fingerprinting which license, board and application type the request concerns. Have the current instructions and any CHAI confirmation available. For a DOH screening, follow the current Clearinghouse process, including the required privacy affirmation. Check whether retained results can be used before paying for fresh fingerprints; a renewal notice does not automatically mean another capture is necessary.
Your appointment instructions provide the appropriate ORI and identification requirements. The separate ORI guide can help explain that identifier, but the requesting authority confirms the route. Bring the requested ID to the appointment and keep the TCN afterward. Fingerprint capture, agency review and issuance of your license are separate stages; Oraz does not decide professional eligibility.

Does APRN mean the same license as RN?
No. APRN is an advanced practice registered nursing category. Identify the exact application rather than treating the abbreviations as interchangeable.
Can out-of-state nursing fingerprints be assumed valid?
No. Confirm the required submission and whether an existing record meets Florida's licensing conditions.
Can I begin work as soon as the scan is done?
The scan is one step. Confirm licensing status and employer clearance before relying on it as permission to work.
