Your next step
Confirm the requested service before arranging a visit. A question or quote request is not a confirmed appointment.
A valid-looking code is not the whole answer
Treat this as a document comparison rather than a search for a familiar profession name. Check who issued the instructions, whom they address and what application they describe. A forwarded message for another employee or an old checklist may not explain your current request.
Florida programs publish their own fingerprinting requirements. For example, DBPR identifies ORIs by regulated profession, while HealthSource provides instructions within its health-care screening process. Neither example means that every job with similar wording follows the same program.
What to compare before the appointment
Place the ORI alongside the full agency name, profession or program, application type and any additional requested reference. Preserve letters and digits exactly as supplied. If the number is hard to read, request a clearer copy instead of guessing.
If an online account and a separate letter show different information, ask the issuer to resolve the discrepancy. Keep the clarification with the original instructions so the fingerprinting office can see why a particular route was selected.
Confirm the instructions before capture
At your Oraz Fingerprinting appointment, have your instructions accessible and explain the purpose of the request. Flag any conflict before submission. A useful final check is simply to compare the code being used against the confirmed written instruction.
If the instructions mention a photograph, consent, preregistration or an additional field, raise that requirement as well. Confirmation of the ORI alone should not be treated as confirmation of every other program condition.
Use the directory as a reference
The existing ORI page on the main website can help you identify what to ask. It is not an agency decision and opening it does not send a review request. Avoid copying another applicant’s code without checking that their program matches yours.
Questions about this topic
Is an ORI in a directory guaranteed to fit my application?
No. A listed number and the correct number for your specific application are different questions.
Should I change an ORI because a web page shows another one?
Ask the issuer to resolve conflicting instructions first. Do not silently replace the value in the agency’s written directions.
What if I notice the difference after submission?
Keep the receipt and instructions, then contact the original provider and requesting organization before purchasing another submission.
