Do Florida Physical Therapists and PTAs Need Fingerprinting?

PT means Physical Therapist and PTA means Physical Therapist Assistant. Florida's physical-therapy licensing requirements should be checked for the exact professional category and application. A clinic's employee background check, a school placement and your state professional license are different requests. Begin with the one you need to complete, then confirm the appropriate fingerprint service.

Is my request for PT, PTA or clinical training?

An assistant license is not the same as a therapist license, and a student's clinical placement is not automatically the licensing application. Identify the category on the Board of Physical Therapy paperwork. If a school or rehabilitation facility requested screening, ask whether it is a placement or employment check in addition to your professional licensing requirement.

Why might renewal require attention now?

Current DOH policy includes screened healthcare professions in initial licensing and renewal. If your licensing account asks for screening, use current directions even if a past renewal did not. On the other hand, existing retained Clearinghouse results may be usable; do not arrange another scan without checking the record and the application conditions.

Who receives the screening and who issues my license?

The correct state submission makes the result available through the authorized process. The board evaluates the license, while a facility determines its own onboarding requirements. Fingerprint capture does not verify education, examination scores or clinical competencies. If a deadline is close, clarify whether the institution needs a booked appointment, submission evidence or completed eligibility review.

How should I prepare for the fingerprinting appointment?

Before booking, tell Oraz Fingerprinting which license, board and application type the request concerns. Have the current instructions and any CHAI confirmation available. For a DOH screening, follow the current Clearinghouse process, including the required privacy affirmation. Check whether retained results can be used before paying for fresh fingerprints; a renewal notice does not automatically mean another capture is necessary.

Your appointment instructions provide the appropriate ORI and identification requirements. The separate ORI guide can help explain that identifier, but the requesting authority confirms the route. Bring the requested ID to the appointment and keep the TCN afterward. Fingerprint capture, agency review and issuance of your license are separate stages; Oraz does not decide professional eligibility.

Does your program ask for an ORI?

Identify the requesting program first. Use the directory as a reference and confirm the correct value with the organization before submission.
